Postpartum Belly Binding with Elastic Bandage (Vendas)
Postpartum Belly Binding is a traditional practice done in many cultures during La Cuarentena, postpartum quarantine. In Latin America, La Cuarentena refers to the sacred postpartum period of 6 weeks, also known as the First 40 Days, and the 4th Trimester. Belly Binding is done on folks to support their healing.
Postpartum Belly Binding with elastic bandages can be done as soon as 4 hours postpartum. Elastic bandages are helpful because they are gentle and can be worn several hours a day. They are versatile and do not cause restriction to breathing or movement.
This service includes:
One belly binding wrap done by me
One extra elastic bandage wrap and training for support person on how to rebind
Fee: $150 | Additional wrapping services: $75.00
Postpartum Sealing Ceremony/“Bone Closing” Ceremony
A postpartum sealing ceremony also known as "closing the bones” or “cerrada” in Spanish, is performed at the end of the 40 days postpartum. It is offered to support the birthing person in returning to themselves post-birth and sealing the energetic points of the body that have been opened during pregnancy and childbirth.
The process of a postpartum sealing ceremony:
An energy-clearing ritual is performed. You can choose to have one of the following rituals performed,
Rose healing ritual
Herbal energetic cleanse
Herbal bath
After the energy cleanse, I provide gentle bodywork and use a Rebozo (a traditional, woven shawl from Mexico), to gently but firmly close the birthing person’s energetic points starting at the feet and ending at the head. A person is wrapped from head to toe in rebozos and I finish the sealing ceremony with a belly bind.
Fee | $600.
